Davidson boutique also named Best Shoe Store in town by the editors at Charlotte Magazine
DAVIDSON — Led by owner Sandy Bowers, Monkee’s of Lake Norman and Monkee’s on Main recently raised more than $1,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on behalf of one of their favorite and most loyal friends, Summer Hall.
Cancer has touched the lives of so many, and the Monkettes were anxious to do their part to help raise funds and awareness. Some women — like Sandy’s mother Marian McGowan — fight valiantly but can overtake it. Others, such as Monkee’s of Lake Norman’s own Lane Dunker, battle through to become survivors.
Then there are more women, like Summer Hall, who raise money for and awareness of cancer, a disease that has touched far too many mothers, daughters and families. As part of her campaign for Woman of the Year, Summer enlisted the help of Monkee’s of Lake Norman.
On May 7 in the Davidson boutique a portion of the day’s sales went to Summer’s campaign, totalling more than $1,000.
